Medicare Guidance You Can Trust — Serving Northwest Florida
Turning 65 brings big decisions, and understanding your Medicare options shouldn't add to the stress. Whether you're approaching retirement, already enrolled, or helping a loved one navigate their coverage, I'm here to make the process clear, simple, and personal.
Local Medicare Expertise You Can Rely On
I proudly serve individuals and families throughout the Florida Panhandle, including Pensacola, Milton, Navarre, Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Crestview, DeFuniak Springs, and Panama City. As a local advisor, I understand the unique needs of our community — from snowbirds settling in for the season to lifelong residents planning for retirement.
Turning 65? Let's Talk Medicare.
Turning 65 is one of the most important milestones in your healthcare journey. It's the time to enroll in Medicare, and getting it right from the start can save you time, money, and headaches down the road. I'll walk you through:
Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D — what each covers and what you actually need
Prescription drug plans — finding coverage that fits your medications and budget
Medicare Advantage vs. Original Medicare — comparing your options side by side
Medicare and Medicaid coordination — understanding how these programs work together if you qualify for both
Enrollment periods and deadlines — avoiding penalties and coverage gaps
Living with Chronic Conditions? Coverage Matters More Than Ever.
If you're managing chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or arthritis, choosing the right plan isn't just about premiums — it's about making sure your doctors, specialists, and prescriptions are covered without surprises. I take the time to understand your health needs and match you with a plan designed for your life, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Medicaid Support for Those Who Qualify
For individuals who may qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid, navigating dual eligibility can be confusing. I help simplify the process, ensuring you understand your benefits and get the coverage you deserve without unnecessary paperwork or delays.
Why We Care
I'm Melissa — wife to Daniel for the last 31 years, mom to seven wonderful kids (three of whom joined our family through foster care adoption), and someone who believes navigating insurance shouldn't feel overwhelming.
My family keeps me busy and grounded. This year, my youngest graduates from high school, and my only son recently graduated Army boot camp — moments that remind me how quickly life changes and how important it is to have the right support in place when it does. My older children have settled in Utah and Arizona, while my three youngest are still home with us here in Florida. These days, much of our travel is spent visiting family scattered across the country — though I keep a running list on my phone of dream destinations for "someday."
I earned my degree in Communications from BYU, and over the years I've used it in a variety of ways, including marketing for small businesses. That background taught me how to take complicated information and make it clear, approachable, and human — a skill I bring directly into my work helping people understand their Medicare options.
Music has always been part of my life. I play piano and violin, love to sing, and count myself a lifelong Beatles fan.
What led me to this work, though, was personal. A few years ago, I helped my mom navigate a difficult insurance situation after a surgery. Watching how confusing and stressful that process could be — even for someone who thought she understood her coverage — showed me exactly how much good guidance matters.
That experience is why I do what I do: to walk people through the paperwork, answer the hard questions, and help them find coverage that truly works for their life.
